Free NEET-MDS college predictor: how it works

Last updated · Reviewed by Dr. Rajiv Marechal

What it does

You enter your rank, category, the counselling you want and the branches you like. FindMyBranch then shows which MDS seats are very likely, possible or hard for you. Every answer comes from real past allotments (the official seat allotment results) from MCC’s All India counselling, 15 state counsellings, and the AIIMS, JIPMER and PGIMER dental seats, not from guesses.

Two ways in

MDS seats are filled through two separate exams, so the first question is which rank you have. Each has its own ranks and its own seats, and the two are never mixed.

How it works, step by step

  1. Pick MCC All India, one or more states, or both.
  2. Enter your NEET-MDS rank, your MCC category and whether you are a PwD candidate. For each state you picked, choose your category in that state (every state has its own list).
  3. Choose which seats to see: government seats, paid seats, or both kept apart. Tick special seats (a central university’s internal quota, Armed Forces, NRI, minority, a state’s region or in-service seats) only if you truly qualify.
  4. If you like, pick branches in the order you want them, and colleges.
  5. See every seat sorted into very likely, possible and hard, with the closing rank (the rank of the last person who got that seat) and your room against it.

The INI-CET path is shorter: your INI-CET rank, category, PwBD, then branches and institutes if you want to narrow it.

How the sorting works

For each seat, the tool takes the newest year with a closing rank for a seat you can take, from the regular rounds only. Stray-round figures are kept apart and never decide the group. Then it compares your rank:

For example, for a seat that closed at rank 2,000: a rank of 1,900 or better is very likely, 1,901 to 2,299 is possible, and 2,300 or worse is hard.

Which data it uses

You can also look at the open-category figures yourself on NEET-MDS closing ranks by branch.

Rules it never breaks

What is free, and what the ₹499 MDS report adds

The free preview shows how many seats fall in each group and three seats in full (your best government seat, your best state-quota seat at a private college where you have one, and one stretch seat). The one-time ₹499 MDS report unlocks every seat, with each round’s closing rank and the stray-round figure. Cards show the fee, bond and stipend where we have them on record. One MDS purchase covers both NEET-MDS and the INI-CET dental seats. It is separate from the NEET-PG report.

Part of complete MDS counselling help

FindMyBranch also has NEET-MDS counselling guides, an MDS round calendar, MDS stipend and service bond by college, and a Tamil Nadu MDS counselling guide. New to the tool? Read how to get the most out of it.

Questions people ask

Is the NEET-MDS college predictor free?

Yes. You can enter your rank and see a free preview: how many seats fall in each group, and three seats in full (your best government seat, your best state-quota seat at a private college where you have one, and one stretch seat). The ₹499 MDS report is a one-time payment that unlocks the full list.

Which rank should I enter?

Your overall NEET-MDS rank from the NBEMS result, not a category rank and not a state rank. Tamil Nadu is the exception: it ranks on its own lists, so the tool asks for your Government Quota rank (GRANK) and your Management Quota list rank. For AIIMS, JIPMER and PGIMER dental seats, enter your INI-CET rank instead.

Does it guess a closing rank when there is no data?

No. A seat is shown only when a real closing rank is on record for a seat you can take: the open seat, or your own category's seat. It never borrows another category's figure.

Are deemed university seats included?

Yes. Deemed university seats are paid seats with no category reservation, so they are judged on the open seats only. They are tagged as paid and never mixed into the government list.

Does my NEET-PG report unlock the MDS results?

No. MDS is a separate ₹499 purchase. One MDS purchase covers both NEET-MDS seats and the INI-CET dental seats at AIIMS, JIPMER and PGIMER.

Is the result a promise of a seat?

No. It shows what happened in past years. Seats, rules and competition change every year, so use it to plan, not as a guarantee.

Enter your rank and see your MDS seats in a minute.
